Fleuchaus & Gallo expands – and intends to continue doing so!

The story of Fleuchaus & Gallo bears almost 60 years of tradition and, more recently, a continuous evolution and a steadfast commitment to expanding our footprint. We are therefore thrilled that our partnership is growing yet again, marked by the accession of two more exceptional colleagues: Samuel Wu and Christoph Wagner.

This milestone arrives alongside the successful conclusion of the full integration of our valued colleagues Matthias Zahn and Peter Bittner, based near Heidelberg and Mannheim.

Both events solidify our presence in the ICT and electronics fields significantly.

A Bridge Across Borders: The Journey of Samuel Wu

Samuel Wu's elevation to partner is a landmark moment, as, being Canadian, he becomes the first truly international partner in our firm’s history—a reflection of the innovative spirit that defines us. Sam's journey in the world of Intellectual Property began in Japan in 2007. After four years of honing his craft there, he sought new challenges and joined Fleuchaus & Gallo, where he quickly transitioned from a patent engineer to a qualified European patent attorney and a vital pillar of our Munich office.

With a degree in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo in Canada, Sam brings a fastidious, analytical mind to every case he handles. Our clients have come to rely on his multinational perspective and his dedication to finding good pathways through complex patent legal landscapes. Beyond the office, Sam is a familiar face at international conferences such as the APAA, where he tirelessly reinforces our relationships throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Recently, he further solidified his expertise by qualifying to represent clients before the Unified Patent Court (UPC).

Strategy and Precision: The Expertise of Christoph Wagner

Joining the partnership at the same time is Christoph Wagner, whose background as a former Captain in the German Air Force has forged him into a "cool strategist" and a master of lateral thinking. Christoph's professional foundation is built on a degree in electrical engineering from the Bundeswehruniversität München, complemented by years of field experience in high-frequency communications and systems control. This unique trajectory provides him with profound technical expertise in aviation and avionics, which he applies with calm judgment and foresight.

As a registered German and European Patent Attorney—and also a qualified Representative before the UPC—Christoph has a particular affinity for "tricky" inter-partes proceedings that require observing a situation from many different angles. His ability to structure highly complex procedural situations is unmatched, and he is even certified to act on secret patent matters. Beyond his technical rigor, Christoph’s natural curiosity makes him a versatile thinker, proficient in fields ranging from history to economics.

Look ahead

Inside our firm, we value both Sam and Christoph as reliable, collaborative team mates who bring immense analytical strength to the table. Their addition to the partnership is more than just a title change; it is a commitment to our clients that we will continue to provide not only technical and legal excellence but also deep strategic consultancy in the innovation space.

Please join us in congratulating them on these well-deserved achievements!
