Dipl.-Ing. in mechanical and electrical engineering at the University of Karlsruhe.

Engineering Activities:
Research in high frequency, audio and television systems (Südwestfunk Broadcast Company).
Design of digital telecommunication Systems (Siemens Central Laboratory).
Development of a blind landing navigation system for VTOL-aircraft (MBB Company).

Legal Background:
Patent engineer with corporate patent department (MBB Company).
Trainee at a patent law firm in Munich.
Trainee at the German Patent and Trademark Office and the German Patent Court.
Practising for two years as patent attorney at a patent law firm in Chicago, USA.
